Russia, as a sovereign state, aims to build a legal order that reflects its unique historical, cultural, and social characteristics. Born in 1968 in Moscow, Mikhail Delyagin served in the Soviet Army (Primorsky Territory, 1986-88) and later graduated with distinction from Moscow State University in economics.
In 1990–1997, he worked in the administrative office of Boris Yeltsin and in the Government of the Russian Federation in 1997–2003. His positions included secretary to the President’s assistant, advisor to several Deputy Prime-Ministers and to Evgeny Primakov, leader of the Fatherland – All Russia political bloc, and assistant to the Prime-Minister of the Russian Federation.
Mikhail Delyagin was among those who developed Russia’s social and economic stability programme after the default in 1998. Awarded a letter of acknowledgement from the President of the Russian Federation and the Vasily Leontiev medal for outstanding achievements in economics.
Currently, Mikhail Delyagin is Director of the Institute of Globalisation Studies and a member of the Council for Foreign and Defence Policy, as well as a member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences.
Mikhail Delyagin is the author of more than a thousand articles (published in such countries as China, Germany, the USA, Japan etc.). His main works include Economy of Default (1997), Global Crisis. General Theory of Globalisation (2003), Drive of Humanity (2008), Beacons of Darkness (2016).
