Speaker list for SPILF 2024 business programme announced

The expanded business programme for the 12th St. Petersburg International Legal Forum has been published. With over 120 events, the business programme will include round tables, business sessions, open conversations, meetings, business breakfasts, lectures and presentations.

“During the event, Forum participants will discuss the role of legal norms in maintaining stability and security in the world, the challenges facing legal systems today, and ways to adapt these systems to the new realities. Attention will be paid in particular to human rights protection, the rule of law, and the interaction of international and legal systems in the context of global changes,” noted Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation and Executive Secretary of the SPILF Organizing Committee Anton Kobyakov.

The opening day will feature a session entitled ‘Non-Profit Organizations without Borders’ as part of the ‘International Law in the New Reality’ thematic track, where participants will discuss the role and place of non-profits in Russia’s foreign policy, as well as the effectiveness of the exchange of experience about the activities of non-profits on the external humanitarian track. The session will be moderated by Deputy Head of Rossotrudnichestvo Dmitry Polikanov. Speakers will include Director of the Information and Press Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharova, Deputy Executive Director of the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund Sergey Orlov, Deputy Minister of Justice of the Russian Federation Oleg Sviridenko, Director General of the Kindness of the North Charitable Foundation and Chair of the Commission for the Development of the Nonprofit Sector and Support for Socially Oriented NPOs of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation Elena Topoleva-Soldunova, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation and Chair of the Presidential Council for Civil Society and Human Rights Valery Fadeyev, and CEO of the Presidential Grants Foundation Ilya Chukalin. Other participants in the discussion will include Director of the Institute for the Social and Creative Development of Assets (ISKRA) and member of the Club of Friends of the Gorchakov Fund Daria Zinkovskaya, Executive Director of the Russian Humanitarian Mission Elizaveta Makarova, and its General Director Sergey Shevchuk. 

The session entitled ‘The U.S. Federal Reserve: The Highest Form of Corruption’, which takes place on 27 June, will be moderated by journalist and host of his own political talk show Vladimir Solovyov. Speakers at the session will include President of the Technological Sovereignty Exports and Association Professor in the Department of Applied International Analysis at MGIMO University Andrey Bezrukov, Director of the Information and Press Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharova, Member of Presidium of the Council on Foreign and Defence Policy Alexander Losev, and Minister of Justice of the Russian Federation Konstantin Chuychenko. The discussion will focus on the corrupt nature of the Federal Reserve System (the Fed) and its role as the main instrument of global financial capital. 

The final day of the Forum will feature a plenary session organized by the International Youth Legal Forum entitled ‘Values of Law in the New World Order’. Before the meeting, the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation will present awards to the best students and graduate students of law universities.

Other events planned for SPILF 2024 include an Open Meeting of Justice Ministers, a Meeting of the Interstate Council for Combating Corruption with the participation of representatives of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Russia, a Meeting of the CIS Human Rights Commission, a Lecture by the Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation, and much more. 

The St. Petersburg International Legal Forum is a unique dialogue platform in the field of law. The event traditionally brings together leading experts in various specializations, public figures, opinion leaders, and media representatives.
