Youth Choir of St. Isaac’s Cathedral puts on performance for SPILF participants

On 27 June, the Youth Choir of St. Isaac’s Cathedral performed at the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum at the ExpoForum Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The programme featured the works of ecclesiastical, classical, folk, and modern music, including: 

1. Rejoice, Russian Land! Petrovsky canticle
2. French Carol, text and arrangement by Nun Juliania (Denisova)
3. Through the Blessed Eye, Lordby Nun Juliania (Denisova)
4. A Great and Glorious Miracleby V. Panchenko
5. Christos anesti in three languagesGreek, Latin, and Church Slavonic
6. Searching for God by A. Zubrich 
7. We Need One Victory, music and lyrics by B. Okudzhava 
8. I Look into the Blue Lakes, music by L. Afanasyev, lyrics by I. Shaferan

The event was held under the auspices of the Roscongress Foundation and the Right Outdoor Media Group.

The Youth Choir of St. Isaac’s Cathedral was created on 14October 2021 with the blessing of the Metropolitan Barsanuphius of St. Petersburg and Ladoga.

The choir is made up of men and women aged 18 to 35. The group takes part in services at St. Isaac’s Cathedral and holds concerts on a regular basis. Its highlights include landmark performances at top venues in Russia, as well as participation in international competitions and Russian festivals.

The Choir’s artistic director is Larisa Khristich.
