Representatives of the Ministry of Justice of Russia and the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Burundi discussed interdepartmental cooperation

A roundtable was held to exchange information on areas of cooperation between the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Burundi. 

Bilateral cooperation will be carried out in accordance with the Programme of Cooperation between the Ministries of Justice for 2025–2026 on a wide range of legal issues. These include digitalization of the legal sphere, probation of persons sentenced to imprisonment, organization of forensic expertise, development of advocacy, notarial system and alternative dispute resolution methods.

The participants in the meeting noted the high level of Russian-Burundian relations in the area of justice. The Russian side invited their colleagues to take part in the 13th St. Petersburg International Legal Forum. This year’s Forum will be held from 19 to 21 May in St. Petersburg.

Burundian colleagues have also been invited to attend the International Conference ‘ICT-crime 2025’, which will discuss, among other things, ICT law and countering the use of ICT for criminal purposes, as well as improving the effectiveness of international legal mechanisms to counter cybercrime. The conference will take place this coming July in St. Petersburg.
