13th St. Petersburg International Legal Forum scheduled for 19–21 May 2025

The first
meeting of the Organizing Committee for the 13th St. Petersburg
International Legal Forum took place on 30 October 2024 at the Russian Ministry
of Justice under the chairmanship of Minister of Justice Konstantin Chuychenko.
Participants discussed important organizational issues for the event and
approved new members for the Committee.
Chuychenko spoke
of the importance of the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum and its reputation
as a place where experts come to engage in constructive dialogue on a wide
range of legal issues. Roughly 5,000 representatives of the legal community
from within Russia and 80 countries attended the 12th St. Petersburg
International Legal Forum.
“One of the
Forum’s main goals is to develop and expand cooperation in the judiciary. And we
can see how every year the Forum attracts greater interest from a wider range
of participants from within Russia, Asia, the Arab world, Africa, the countries
of Latin America, and the CIS, SCO, and BRICS,” the Minister said.
“SPILF has
always been a place for working out proposals to improve important legal
institutions and strengthen legal authority. Knowing what the event has already
accomplished, I have no doubt interest in next year’s SPILF will only continue
to increase among international delegations and young professionals. I propose working
within the main business programme as much as on the sidelines of the
International Youth Legal Forum,” Adviser to the Russian President and
Executive Secretary of the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum Organizing
Committee Anton Kobyakov said.
The meeting of
the Organizing Committee ended with the decision to hold the 13th St.
Petersburg International Legal Forum from 19 to 21 May 2025 in St.
Petersburg. The event is being organized by the Russian Ministry of Justice
in conjunction with the Roscongress Foundation.
The St. Petersburg International Legal Forum was
established in 2011 and enjoys the support of the President of the Russian
Federation, the Russian Ministry of Justice, and the Roscongress Foundation.
Over the years, SPILF has grown into a major platform
for experts from the legal, business, political, and law enforcement
communities to engage in dialogue on how best to protect the rights and
interests of private citizens and business, improve law enforcement in
practice, and promote legislative initiatives aimed at developing legal
culture.
